Hughes Collective is pleased to present an exciting opportunity on behalf of our client.
Role: Meat Manager
Location: Moosomin, SK
Reporting to: Food Store Manager
Our Client
Our client is a long-standing co-operative operating across southeastern Saskatchewan. What began as a small local operation has grown into a multi-division retail organization with locations supporting agriculture, fuel, food, and home and building supplies.
Their locations are part of the daily rhythm of the communities around them. Farmers stop in before heading to the field, families fuel up on their way through town, and regular customers know the staff behind the counter by name.
Across the organization you will find experienced teams and leaders who run their locations with clear expectations and strong operational standards. Many employees have been with the co-operative for years, creating an environment where knowledge is shared, new staff are supported, and people understand the importance of the work they do in their communities.
The Opportunity
The meat department is one of the most hands-on areas of the store. From the first orders placed in the morning to the afternoon rush at the counter, it requires careful coordination, product knowledge, and strong leadership on the floor.
As the Meat Manager, you will oversee the daily operation of the department, guiding production, managing inventory, and ensuring the counter is stocked with fresh, well-presented product throughout the day. You will work closely with your team to organize priorities, monitor product quality, and maintain the standards customers expect when they visit the meat counter.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands meat operations and enjoys leading from the floor while keeping the department organized, productive, and ready for customers.

- Provide clear direction and accountability while maintaining a positive and professional working environment.
4. Customer Experience & Food Safety
- Provide knowledgeable and professional service at the meat counter, including responding to product questions, custom cutting requests, and special orders when required.
- Maintain high standards for product freshness, food safety, and sanitation across all areas of the department.
