Hughes Collective is pleased to present an exciting opportunity on behalf of our client.
Role: Truck and Trailer Mechanic (SGI Certified)
Location: Saskatoon, SK
Reporting to: Service Manager
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40-hours per week
Our Client
Our client is a leading North American manufacturer specializing in tank trailers and tank trucks for the transportation of liquid and dry bulk products. Originally focused solely on manufacturing milk tanks, the company has expanded its capabilities over the years to offer a broad range of stainless steel and aluminum transportation solutions that serve a variety of industries across North America.
Today, our client manufactures more than 1,000 tanks annually through six facilities located across Canada and the United States, including locations in Quebec, Ontario, Ohio, and Massachusetts. Supported by several sister companies and divisions, the organization provides comprehensive services including manufacturing, sales, leasing, repairs, and parts support, serving nearly 5,000 customers throughout North America.
Recognized as one of the four largest tank trailer manufacturers in North America, our client is known for delivering flexible and cost-effective transportation solutions. In addition to new equipment manufacturing, the company also offers rental and leasing services, maintains an inventory of used units, and accepts trade-ins, allowing it to meet a wide range of customer needs with strong service and operational support.
The Opportunity
Every day brings a new challenge in this hands-on role. As a Truck and Trailer Mechanic, you’ll play a key role in SGI Vehicle Standards and Inspection while keeping essential equipment safe, compliant, and road ready. From diagnosing hydraulic issues to repairing critical PTO (Power Take-Off) components, this opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving, working with their hands, and taking pride in quality workmanship.
Rather than focusing on major engine, transmission, or differential rebuilds, this role is centered around the systems that keep specialized equipment performing at its best. It’s a position where technical skill, attention to detail, and practical mechanical experience come together in a fast-paced environment supporting essential transportation operations.
For someone who enjoys working directly with equipment, tackling mechanical challenges, and becoming an expert in hydraulic and PTO systems, this role offers the chance to build a rewarding career with meaningful, day-to-day impact.
