Marketing & Recruitment Associate

Location: Saskatoon, SK (Primarily Remote – Regular In-Person Client Visits & Events)

Type: Full-Time

About Us

We’re not your average firm. Hughes Collective is a bold, people-first consultancy helping organizations grow through strategic recruitment, employer branding, HR, marketing, and advisory support. We blend creativity and business strategy to help our clients build strong teams, compelling brands, and better workplaces.

If you are equal parts creative and organized, love turning ideas into polished execution, and get excited by storytelling, design, and building brands that actually mean something, you’ll feel right at home here.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a creative, organized, and high-initiative Marketing & Recruitment Associate to help bring the Hughes brand, and our clients’ brands, to life.

This is a marketing-first role for someone who loves variety and wants to grow into a well-rounded creative and strategic contributor. You’ll support branding, graphic design, content writing, social media, communications, website updates, photography and video coordination, and creative campaign development. You’ll also work closely with our team on projects connected to recruitment, employer branding, and client growth, which means an interest in people, business, and learning new things will go a long way.

You do not need to know everything on day one. But you do need to be curious, adaptable, visually sharp, and excited to build your skills in a fast-moving environment where no two days look exactly the same.

This role is based in Saskatoon, SK and is primarily remote, with regular in-person collaboration, client visits, events, and content capture days.

What You’ll Do

As the Marketing & Recruitment Associate, you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:

Marketing, Brand & Creative Execution

  • Support the development and execution of marketing initiatives for Hughes Collective and select client projects
  • Create and coordinate branded content across social media, blogs, email communications, and other digital channels
  • Assist with graphic design for proposals, presentations, recruitment campaigns, social content, and marketing collateral
  • Help evolve and maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints
  • Write compelling copy that is clear, polished, and aligned with brand voice
  • Support website content updates and learn how to build and maintain web pages over time
  • Research trends, competitors, and creative opportunities to bring fresh ideas forward
  • Help organize and maintain brand assets, templates, and creative files

Photo, Video & Content Capture Support

  • Attend client visits, team events, and project days to help capture content
  • Support light photography and videography needs, with a willingness to learn and grow in this area
  • Help direct and coordinate content shoots with external photographers and videographers when needed
  • Assist in turning raw content into usable assets for campaigns, social media, and brand storytelling

Communications & Storytelling

  • Write blogs, internal communications, client-facing copy, captions, and campaign messaging
  • Help bring stories to life in a way that feels human, strategic, and visually engaging
  • Support communications that strengthen brand presence and help our work stand out in the market

Recruitment & Talent Support

  • Support full-cycle recruitment projects across a range of roles (professional, technical, trades, and industrial)
  • Write and post compelling job posts with your storytelling hat on
  • Pre-screen candidates and coordinate interviews
  • Conduct reference checks and support onboarding documentation
  • Actively source, engage, and build relationships with candidates using sourcing platforms and tools
  • Keep our applicant tracking system (ATS) and internal recruitment tools organized and up to date
  • Collaborate closely with our team to support smooth, timely project delivery

Client Experience & Support

At Hughes Collective, every client touchpoint is an opportunity to build trust, loyalty, and a little bit of magic. In this role, you’ll help us deliver a best-in-class experience through thoughtful gestures, operational precision, and seamless behind-the-scenes support that makes our team (and our clients) feel taken care of.

  • Join key client meetings to capture sharp, actionable notes, track next steps, and ensure our team delivers with consistency and clarity
  • Own the rhythm of the client experience by helping track milestones, anniversaries, and project timelines so we never miss a moment that matters
  • Prep meeting agendas, client-facing materials, and follow-up communications that keep us polished, professional, and one step ahead
  • Support the planning and execution of client meetings, workshops, and in-person events, ensuring logistics and little touches are always on point
  • Keep client records current and organized in our CRM and internal trackers, ensuring the entire team can move with confidence and visibility
  • Help monitor client satisfaction, gather informal feedback, and flag any issues early, so we can course-correct quickly and strengthen relationships
  • Be the behind-the-scenes magic: anticipating needs, solving problems before they surface, and helping create those unforgettable “wow” moments that make Hughes Collective stand out

Collaboration & Growth

At Hughes Collective, mindset is a non-negotiable. A positive, solutions-focused, team-first approach is the foundation of everything we do.

  • Work closely with recruiters, consultants, and creatives across projects
  • Pitch in where needed, whether that’s helping prep for a strategy session, reviewing a job ad, or supporting an event
  • Bring curiosity, confidence, and care to every challenge
  • Receive ongoing feedback, support, and development opportunities tailored to your strengths and goals
  • We don’t expect you to know everything from day one, but we do expect you to show up with initiative, openness, and the desire to grow.

Who You Are

As our ideal Marketing & Recruitment Associate, you’re someone who combines creativity, initiative, and strong execution. You care about doing great work, bringing fresh ideas forward, and creating experiences and content that actually stand out.

You’re someone who notices the details, values quality, and takes pride in creating polished, thoughtful, and visually strong work. You have strong creative instincts, good taste, and an eye for what feels modern, elevated, and engaging.

You likely bring:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing, branding, recruitment, client services, communications, or a blend of related experience (less experienced candidates may be considered for a Junior Associate level role)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a natural ability to connect with people and tell compelling stories
  • A sharp eye for branding, visuals, content, and overall presentation
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • A proactive, resourceful, and solutions focused mindset, with the confidence to take initiative and figure things out
  • Strong creative instincts and an interest in branding, marketing, employer branding, and digital storytelling
  • Experience creating content for social media and digital platforms, with an understanding of audience engagement and brand consistency
  • Proficiency in Canva, with familiarity in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and Illustrator considered an asset
  • Comfort learning and navigating digital tools, systems, and platforms that keep projects and client experiences running smoothly
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a desire to continuously learn and evolve your skillset
  • A collaborative, team first mindset and willingness to jump in wherever needed
  • Positive energy, emotional intelligence, and a genuine enjoyment of building relationships
  • Excitement about contributing to a growing company where ideas move quickly and no two days look exactly the same
  • Based in or near Saskatoon with access to reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed), and excited to regularly join us on site at client locations, meetings, events, and content days throughout the week as part of a collaborative, relationship driven work environment

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Photography, videography, or content editing experience
  • Experience with employer branding, recruitment marketing, or talent attraction campaigns
  • Basic website editing or web design experience
  • Experience supporting client accounts, campaigns, or creative projects
  • A portfolio or samples of creative work, branding, content, or campaign projects you’re proud of

A Note on Mindset

At Hughes Collective, we care just as much about mindset as skillset. We’re looking for someone who is curious, dependable, creative, humble, and excited to contribute to a growing team. Someone who takes ownership, brings ideas forward, cares deeply about people and quality, and wants to help create meaningful work and experiences.

What We Offer

  • A flexible, primarily remote role with regular in-person touchpoints across Saskatoon (~3–4 days/week anticipated)
  • Purpose driven work with organizations that are building stronger teams, brands, and communities
  • A creative, collaborative team that values collaboration, an abundance-mindset, trust, initiative, and humour
