Role: Journeyperson Millwright

Location: McClean Lake

Duration: 12 months

Shift Schedule: 2 weeks on 2 weeks off

Location: Camp Accommodation and Travel Allowance

Transportation: Fly-in, fly-out available through Saskatoon


OUR CLIENT

Our Client provides a wide variety of services in the support and operation of mining, ranging from project management, supervision, underground construction, maintenance, and Mining equipment operation.  


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Our client is looking for a highly motivated Journeyperson Millwright at McLean Lake, as a Journeyperson Millwright you will:

  • Communicate and cohesively align with other departments in the mine.
  • Service, maintain, and repair surface equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot breakdowns.
  • Maintain and support equipment records and repair history.
  • Provide data for cause and failure analysis.
  • Take part in planning and scheduling within the work system.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 


As a Journeyperson Millwright you will bring:

  • Journeyperson Certificate of Qualification from the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship & Trade Certification Commission as a Journeyperson Millwright / Industrial Mechanic is preferred, fourth year apprentices will also be considered.
  • Valid GMSA - General Mine Safety Awareness training.
  • Valid First Aid/ CPR certificates.
  • Valid WHMIS and SCOT.
  • Underground work experience is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with underground equipment is considered mandatory.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt to tight deadlines.
  • This position requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Safety is our top priority. Candidates must adhere to all safety guidelines and possess relevant certifications, such as CCOHS training.
  • Able to carry out and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Able to work shift work (including holidays, weekends, evenings, and overnight shifts).
  • This role involves working in various environments so candidates should be comfortable working in diverse conditions.
  • Candidates should be prepared to work in all weather conditions. Where appropriate, protective clothing and equipment will be provided.

 


PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS 

All candidates will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
